Steel muzzle

Let’s muzzle up!

We want to make muzzles more positive, for humans, but mostly for dogs. It should be a comfortable accessory for them. 

A muzzle is a good and positive thing, we make them in nice colors to show the positivity. You can design your own muzzle. With the steel muzzle the muzzle itself will stay steel colored, but you can choose the colors of the bands and nosepad and the hardware.

Dogs can wear, and be in need of a muzzle for lots of reasons, like: eating (bad) stuff from the ground, rough playing or mouthing, vet or grooming visits, laws & rules, training, anxious dog’s with big feelings or reactive dogs, etc! A muzzle can make the life of the dog and owner better. We are their guardians to protect and help  them. Actually every dog should be muzzle trained so it becomes a positive tool, when it’s ever suddenly needed.

These muzzles from Chopo are made so your dog can still be a dog while wearing it, think about panting, barking, drinking water and taking treats. They are made of zink which is strong and adventure proof. The bands are made of biothane and there’s some extra padding in the noseband.

They are available in many different sizes, the names are just breed examples so always measure your dog and check which size is best. Every dog is different!

How to measure?

Take a measurement lint, pen and paper to write down the sizes and some delicious cookies for your dog. Check out the pictures for extra help with where to put your measuring tape exactly.

First we will start by measuring the length, we put the measurement lint horizontal on the nose and measure from the eyes to the top of the nose. (We can make the muzzle 1/2 cm longer with the nose pad, so please fill in the nose length of your dog so we know how long we have to make it.)

Now we will measure the width. Put your lint vertical on the dog’s nose keep it straight and measurent the size from one cheek to the other.

Then we measure the height, put your measurement lint vertical on the side of the dog’s face, starting in front of the eyes to the jaw. Keep the measurement lint straight. Note! The muzzle needs to be bigger than this since there needs to be enough pant room. Levy’s measurements was 8cm but his muzzle measurement is 13,5cm. (He wears the Doberman Female size.)

Tip: when you are going to train your dog with the muzzle, take it slow, baby steps! Your dog needs to get used to it and find it a positive tool, like a collar. The meaty licks peanut butter pouches are perfect for training ámd rewarding your dog later with a muzzle on. 😊
